Adobe Systems, the maker of Flash, is in the process of developing tools to allow web designers to format video in different ways that do not involve Flash Player. However, the company has made it clear that they are not planning to abandon their support for Flash web design anytime soon.
The Flash Player for viewing and formatting online video has become a key tool for web designers, but it is also a point of contention among technology companies as more content is moving to mobile devices. Apple devices do not support Flash, and the Xoom tablet from Motorola was also introduced without it, although a version of the software for that device is in the works. Apple refused to support the technology because it is occasionally unstable, however it remains a common format for video online. It is critical for Adobe to maintain that popularity, so they have created a new gaming engine with Flash dubbed Molehill that allows developers to deliver games online.
